IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:  Due to COVID-19, PASS 2020 has been delayed by 1 year.  This notification was sent to all PASS 2020 participants on March 23, 2020. PASS 2021 will have tentative dates of May 30 – June 4, 2021.  We are aware that the ASA 2021 spring meeting in Seattle is scheduled for June 7-11, 2021 and will look at pushing the dates up a week with consideration of various graduation dates. Your acceptance to PASS 2020 will automatically admit you to PASS 2021 (no need to reapply).  The PASS 2021 program will remain the same (venue, lectures, social events).  We understand some of you will graduate in the interim (and congrats!) – you will still be accepted as a student.

Physical Acoustics Summer School
PASS 2020

The 2020 Physical Acoustics Summer School, PASS 2020, will be held at The Inn at Ole Miss Hotel & Conference Center on the Oxford campus of The University of Mississippi, with arrival on 31 May and departure on 05 June 2020.

Purpose: The purpose of the Summer School is to bring graduate Students, distinguished Lecturers, and Discussion Leaders together to discuss a wide variety of subjects in physical acoustics. PASS will give students opportunities to meet experts and discuss topics they would not ordinarily encounter in their own colleges and universities. Participation, including Students, Lecturers, and Discussion Leaders, is limited to fifty. Full-time participation is required.

Students: The focus of PASS is on intermediate and advanced graduate students.

Lecturers and Discussion Leaders: The PASS Organizing Committee selects approximately eight lecture topics and appropriate Lecturers and Discussion Leaders.

Room & Board: Room and board, based on standard multiple-occupancy for Students, will be supported by sponsors.

Program: Program information, including a Preliminary Schedule and application forms, will be available on the web page (below) at the National Center for Physical Acoustics (NCPA) at The University of Mississippi.

Application Deadline: Complete applications for the 2020 Physical Acoustics Summer School must be received no later than Monday 10 February 2020.

Applications: All participants must have a completed Application Form on file. Students must also provide a transcript and one professional reference letter. Copies of the Announcement, Application Form, and Preliminary Schedule will be available at The initial contact is Ms. Sarah E. Krueger.
